LOCAL INFORMATION

Amenities
There are plenty of local shops around the area for your day to day needs, along with Asda, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Marks & Spencer and Tesco supermarkets close by for your weekly shop.
For doctors, register with the Concord Medical Centre on Braydon Avenue in Little Stoke (Sat Nav BS34 6BQ) and for dentists try the Dental Practice on Coniston Road (Sat Nav BS34 5JN).

Dining
You’ll discover a good selection of local restaurants around this area, so you don’t have to head into town to find your feast. The Harvester and TGI Fridays are a firm favourite with families, and you can also find top quality dining at the Miller and Carter Steakhouse, Saffron and Beijing.
Nearby Thornbury has an equally tempting selection, including Mezze Lounge Bar, Ronnie’s, La Piazza and Thai Basil – and should you tire of all this choice, you’ll still have the countless eateries of the Bristol to try and taste.

Education
You can choose from a selection of OFSTED ‘good’ rated primary schools in the local area, including Stoke Lodge Primary, Wheatfield Primary and Little Stoke Primary.
Older children can also choose from several ‘good’ rated schools, including Abbeywood Community School and Bradley Stoke Community School. Bristol also has excellent provision for independent education, with Bristol Grammar and Colston’s School taking children aged 3-18 and QEH and Badminton School in the city catering for older boys and girls respectively.

Leisure
The surrounding area has a thriving local community with a wide range of clubs, societies and events to get involved in. There are many local fitness centres too, including Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre and Virgin Active. Golfers are also well catered for locally with Filton, Almondsbury and Hambrook golf courses within easy reach. There are also multi-screen cinemas, chain eateries and ten pin bowling within easy walking distance at Cribbs Causeway.
Further afield, Bristol has much to offer in the way of leisure and pleasure. It has a selection of theatres and music venues, such as the Bristol Hippodrome, two football clubs and top class rugby union all within easy reach, along with a range of fascinating and fun tourist attractions around the quayside.

Shopping
Bristol is made for retail therapy, with a mix of modern town centre shopping malls, out of town shopping centres and a fascinating selection of unusual independent shops around the historic harbour.
The Mall at Cribbs Causeway has over 130 stores to choose from along with your favourite chain restaurants and leisure facilities. Alternatively, head for the city for the 120 stores of Cabot Circus and an extensive pedestrianised shopping area, or stay closer to home with Abbey Wood Retail Park, just across the A38 in Filton.
